The Center for Manufacturing Excellence building at the University of Mississippi is powered by more than 400 solar panels that have been installed on the roof. The building was built to promote green energy and for educational purposes.

During the 2011 football season, more than 435 tons of waste were collected after game days at the University of Mississippi. Through recycling efforts made by the school and students since then, more and more of game day waste is being recycled.
